This week we are focusing on LITERACY. Did you know that 47%
of Detroit residents are functionally
illiterate? What do we mean by this? Well, if someone is illiterate that means they cannot read or write. If
someone is functionally illiterate they
are capable of some reading or writing simple sentences, but their skills are
not developed enough to function in a job or every day living tasks. Does this
make sense?
Here are some SUPER HELPFUL websites. Some have fun games to
play while others contain article s and stories with a recording so you can
read with help.
